I spend a lot of time reading and learning to fill my jar full. What’s funny is when I think that I’ve filled it, I notice there is always something else that can fit into my life.

Stay humble and keep learning. Growth is necessary to becoming a better, more complete person. It’s important to continually practice your crafts.

ACTION STEPS - Put a sticky note on your bathroom window. Each day write down what you think you’ve 100% mastered on that note. Mine is still blank.

More opportunities. So rolling along here for the next 30 days on this path and see where it takes us today we're gonna be talking about how there is always room to grow as a person. There's always room to grow and have a fairly interesting story for you, actually, on what I mean by this. So one day in class, there was a professor who brought in a jar in this jar. There were rocks? No, he didn't have rocks. It was ajar. Yes, it was an empty jar. And there were some kids in the class, obviously, and he said, All right, kids, how many rocks you think fit in this jar? Do you guys think rocks have fit in here? And obviously the kids like, Yeah, dude, the rocks totally gonna fit in the jar So they feel that he feels a jar up with rocks and it feels to the top. And then he says, raise your hand if you think this jar is full and everybody raise their hand And then he said, Well, you're all wrong. And so then he pulled out a little pouch of pebbles, and he poured those pebbles into the jar. And those pebbles field in the spaces between the rocks and filled the jar up. And he said, Okay, now raise your hand if you think the jar is full. And once again, the students were like, Well, there's no way anything else is fitting in there. So then he pulled out some sweet some sand and poured the sand into the jar. And once again, he said, raise your hand. If you think the jars full and shoes for like is pretty full and you know there's definitely you go a step further and say added Water. But you guys get the point. There's always room to grow. There's always more than you can add. There's always room, firm or things to be added to the jar, to be added into your life as far as growing. As far as becoming a person, a better person is far becoming more developed growth and just becoming better all around. It's important to understand that you don't stop growing because you think that you're done. You know you don't ever stop going. You keep going for for the entirety of your life And don't stop. Don't stop improving. Don't stop becoming better because once you do, you become stagnant and you fall to the wayside. No want that to happen. I spent a lot of time reading and learning to fill my jar full every day. I'm not saying that to brag. I'm saying that because it takes work. It takes effort. It takes consistency. It takes a lot of dedication to becoming a better person. I'm not saying I'm a great person. I'm saying my bad person. That's why I'd take it a lot of time reading and learning because I have a long ways to go. And I realized that. And I hope that you guys realized that you definitely have room to grow as well. Everybody has room to grow, you know, nobody's perfect. No one is 100% amazing and something There's always somebody better than you, and that's it's definitely, you know, smart to stay humble to those facts. So I noticed there there's always something else that can fit into my jar of life per se. But you need to stay humble. You need to keep learning. You need to keep growing. And how can you do that? Well, one thing that I like to do personally is I will be sitting around the house and I'll be thinking about Okay, what, What, what, what I want to learn next that will benefit me in my pursuit and life. You know what, What, what am I missing? And so there's this chart and it starts in the center with your spirituality, and then it goes to your health, and then it goes to your self and then your wealth, and those circles kind of go to show areas in your life which need constant development and currently spiritually. I was not. I was not there a few months ago, and luckily I realized that. So I went to Mackay's, a small little bookstore down in Nashville, and they suck up one of those bargain bookstores where you get a book for, like, a dollar. I love that dude I love gets been all day in that place. You can get books for, like, a dollar DVDs have, like, you know, old ipads iPhones. I mean, just everything and a really cool place to go, Especially if you're a nerd like me. And I spent a lot of time there, and I identified some areas in my life I need to improve. They have these genres broken down very well. You know, they have business books on this isle, spirituality books on this financial books on this hour and so actually went and found some spiritual books. And I started reading them. I wasn't feeling it, you know, They just didn't click every ever get something. It just doesn't click. And so I can kind of became frustrated. I was like, You know, I don't I don't know. I don't know. I want I want to improve spiritually, but I can't really find what I'm looking for. And so I was reading another book that was dealing in marketing a few days ago. Actually, this is last night, and I said to myself, I said, Ah, you know, I I'm gonna read this book of marketing because I'm not the greatest marketing. And I came to a realization that the greatest businessman ever are Marketers know Elon Musk, Bill Gates Mean Steve Jobs. All the guys were exceptional at marketing their products and theirselves. And so I was studying marketing. And then in the book, in the marketing book, the guy actually covers a spirituality book that he had helped a guy publish and go viral. He helped to go viral by just making it something that was very weird, very hot at the time. Like right now we're sitting here in March 2020. If you were to write, I don't know book on something, what would be a hot topic? Well, the Corona virus. And so, at the time that that this book was written that I had picked up on spirituality, the topic was very hot. And so he had written his book centered around that hot topic. And so in the book, I was reading it. It had mentioned this spirituality piece. And so I was like, I'm gonna go check that out and actually bought it. Last night I listened to you before bed. It was audio book because, I don't know, I just kind of just going to get tired of reading, you know, regular books. So I cannot swap over audiobooks every now and then The little more pricey but like that is have Ah, it's It's a lot easier to kind of listen when you're driving a lot, because I definitely am expecting to be driving a lot these next few days. So I I picked up that book and started listening last night and the the book, I mean, so relatable, so relatable, and it just clicked. And I finally found that book on spirituality. But I'm kind of taking a long way to tell you guys this, but you need to identify here. Isn't your life where you could fit something else in? So you noticed that in the jar analogy he had put rocks in the jar. Well, clearly, more rocks weren't going to fit that wasn't gonna work that you know that he needs something else. So he added. What pebbles to the jar aim when rocks or pebbles wouldn't fit, he added. A new element. Sand. So whatever you've become proficient it. I don't know sales. You need to become proficient at content. Whenever you become proficient in sales and content, you have become proficient at the technical aspects. Mean is always something you could be learning and growing towards as a person, as a small business owner. As a leader, you know, you definitely need to be constantly improving yourself, staying ahead of the curve because there's a lot of humble, hungry and smart people out there. And you definitely don't want to be beaten by those guys if you're any, if you're competitive in any way. But you know main point today, stay humble. Keep learning. Growth is necessary to becoming a better, more complete person. Well rounded. You know what you're talking about because you're putting an effort putting an effort and feeling your jar with the right knowledge? No, not a bunch of crap that doesn't really belong there. I'm not saying fiction fiction books or bad. I read fiction books. Star Wars. Ah, the wheel of time like that book series. But you need to constantly filling your cup with things that are relevant to you. Um, action step for today. This is a really good one and one that I've been really bringing up a lot lately because I feel like it really helps you to to grow. So put a sticking out in your bathroom window and each day write down what you've mastered. 100% on that note, and that's it. A piece of paper. Write down what you have, 100% master, and you become an expert in and put it on your sticking out. And for me, mine is blank. And every day I remind myself it is blank and I need to what grow? I need to keep growing. So there's always room to go. It's always space in the jar. All right, thanks.
