There is always room for improvement

Subscribe to the show and all the other subscribers thank you for listening

If you’re ever the smartest person in a room full of people, leave it. Fish bigger than the pond can’t swim in it. You’ll become stagnant and irrelevant if you spend too much time in a position without growth.

I remind myself every single day that I am a master of nothing. I constantly am finding areas that I need to improve and then looking for resources to improve in that area. Find your weakness and work on it.

Even if you are the greatest in the world at something, if you stop practicing and become stagnant, someone will eventually keep improving and overtake you.

ACTION STEP – Pull out a sticky note or notepad and write down what you’ve 100% mastered and that you don’t need to work on it anymore.

Having continual improvement in your life. There's always room for it. And if you don't become, if you don't constantly improve, you don't become better than you were yesterday. Eventually you will fall to the side. And do we want that to happen? No. So here today to talk about that. Hey, go ahead. Everybody listens to the show. Thank you so much. Go ahead If you're not, If you're not a listener, hit the subscribe button. Stay with us, guys. Is a great show. You are great people. You're really awesome. And if nobody's told you this, I believe in you. I've really, truly believe in you. And today I'm gonna try to help you become better. I'm not gonna try to help you. I am going to help you. You have to try to help yourself. I'm gonna put the ball in your court. So, look, have you ever the smartest person in a room full of people? You should leave that room. If you ever the smartest person in your group, you should leave that group. Why? Because as soon as you think you are the number one player, you are the smartest person. That is when you become probably the worst. Because what's gonna happen is you're gonna bump into another guy who knows 2 to 3 times as much as you do, and then you're gonna feel like a real you're gonna be like, Wow, I feel so. Wow, what is this guy? You're gonna get defensive. You're gonna become close minded. You're gonna say, man, this guy's all of my business. He thinks he knows more than I do. So you're gonna get insecure about yourself. And I knew, you know, I'm not calling you by all but there was a guy I knew he had worked in the same spot for about 40 something years, and he always thought he was like, the greatest guy ever at in the I t world. I worked 90 world when I was 20. I started working for the government in 90 World. And so I moved from my small town where he waas He was my boss. He was the IittIe director, according to whoever. And so I go to Nashville and in Nashville I start working for this MSP like manna service company, whatever. And these guys were like, mid twenties and I thought I was good. You know, I thought I was good. I had worked two years and the government jobs started when I was 20. And I learned from, you know, a lot of great people. And I thought I was hot stuff. I thought I was coming in there like a king. And first day, man, I got this. I was destroyed. I mean, these guys, these guys were good and they still are really, really good. I mean, there's some guys there that I was like, Do you ever Are you ever wrong in this in this computer world? A knot rarely that I ever see them slip up the whole time I was there. So those guys were really I'd tell you 10 20 times better than what I imagined, and I thought I was a big fish and maybe back in the old spot I was a pretty big fish. But then when I move in a new spot, I felt like the smallest fish in the world. And that really humbled me and made me reflect and be like, Wow, I really need to work harder. And I think that if you stay in a pond or if you stay in the area so I set upon if you say in an environment where you are, number one for too long you get weaker. You're not challenging yourself. You become you think you're the best. So you pretend you're the best and you act like you're the best. But then one day, if you ever moved to a new spot, you're gonna realize that you're not You're not even close. You like Wow, it is really humbling. And I really suggest if you in a room of people and you're the smartest one there, it's really not a good situation, be it and so you'll become stagnant. I say it because you'll become stagnant and irrelevant. You'll become complacent. And if you spend too much time in the position without growth Eventually, you just you just wither away. It's not. You have to grow. You have to grow as a person. I remind myself every single day that I am a master of nothing. I constantly and finding areas that I need to personally improve on and then looking for resource is to improve in that area. I am the worst guy in the world. It's selling something because I always feel like I'm taking advantage of someone. I always feel like I'm tricking them or psychologically messing with him. I'm just the worst headed. I'm like, man. And you know, I think that truly I have. I've read a lot of books recently. I think I've found why I think I found what it is. And it was my lack of confidence in the products that I was trying to sell or I tried to sell or I was selling. I didn't have any confidence. They weren't the best. When I did the research put pen to paper, I was like, This isn't the best product and I'm not comfortable selling something that isn't the number one best product and that's something that I was like Okay, I can't just so garbage, you know, to somebody tell him that it's gold. That's wrong. That's so wrong. You know, I can't just compact garbage into a bar, spray painted gold and say, it's a brick of gold. Let's discuss and wrong. So don't do that. Then. That's something I have an issue with. And I've read a lot of books recently have taken courses. Cem Grant Cardone is really awesome sales guy, Great material. I've been checking out his stuff. So the point is, I'm working on my weaknesses because if you focus on your strengths, you're just not gonna grow as a person. You're gonna be You're gonna be pretty strong, Sure. And let's say you're in the gym and you're really strong and chest and arms while you people gonna like a bro, You skip leg day. You gotta work on legs, man. Get to keep that body symmetrical. You gotta keep it proportionate. Get to keep your life proportionate, unnecessarily balance. You're always gonna be stronger in one area than the other. But you need to become you need become proficient, and you need to realize you suck it. That because obviously I outsource a lot of my marketing and sales stuff because I'm not the best at it. I still do it. I'm just not the best. So finding that weakness and realizing that I have room to improve in everything there is nothing I could tell you right? If you told me right now, Patrick, what do you ambassador it? I'd say nothing. Probably failure and sucking and messing stuff up. I mean, it's every other day that Jessica, my fiance, she's in here smack me with something because I did something wrong. Like, yesterday. I put a cheese grater in the dishwasher. Apparently, you can't do that. And then secondly, it didn't get cleaned. And I put it up because I didn't thoroughly look and noticed that there was, like, a little piece of cheese stuck out it. So she was pretty upset about that. So you have to be very aware that you have room to grow. And if you ever say that you don't and you're not gonna be successful. So even if you are the greatest in the world at something like Michael Phelps, for instance, he was amazing. Swimmer destroyed everybody. Well, if you stopped practicing, you become stagnant. Someone will eventually keep improving and overtake you. He eventually lost, and now he's, um I don't even know what to do anymore. But he's not a gold medal list nowadays, and pretty sure people all the time overtaking him, beating. I know Serena Williams. I think that tennis player, lady, she's been getting beat recently by a lot of younger people. And maybe it's just not the fact that she's kept practicing. Maybe it had went to her head that she's the best. She she thought she was the best ever. And maybe it's catching up with her, who knows? But if you become stagnant, you stopped practicing. Someone will eventually keep improving and overtake you. Don't forget about that. So going to cut this short today, guys, I want to keep droning on. But today's action step. Here's what I want you to do right now, wherever you are, I want you to do this. Pull out a sticky note on your phone. Um, physical, like a physical one. We're no pad and write down what you have 100% mastered and that you don't need to work on anymore. So write it down right now. What do you mean, 100% master, and you don't need any more work on it writing on that paper. And now what I want you to do is put that somewhere that you look every day, a bathroom mirror your car on your steering will where your speedometer is. We're somewhere funny that you never look. And it's just gonna be hopefully a blank piece of paper. And And every day you look at that blank piece of paper and you say, that's what I mastered and you realize you need to keep working. You need to keep improving. Keep reading, Heeb Learning keep striving. And that will create success for you. Right? Hope you like the show today. Guys, check out the Facebook page. Patrick used 9000.
